Opening Words as shown in bi-cennial Almanac: THE CONSTITUTION OF.....

Friends and Foe Alike,

Following are the opening words originally written along with the Title first as well the Notes at the bottom of this blog are as written.

THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Note: This text of the Constitution follows the engrossed copy signed by General Washington and the deputies from 12 States. The supior number preceding the paragraphs desiginate the number of the clause; it was not in the original. Spelling and punctuation in the Constitution are set according to copy supplied by the United States Government Printing Office; 88th Congress, 1st Session, House Document No. 112.

Article I

Sections 1.

Establishes that ALL Legislative powers shall be vested in a Congress.

Section 2.

1.) Establishes the House of Representatives rules.

Section 3.

1.) Establishes the Senate of the United States rules.

Numbered 1-10

Article II.

Section 1.

1.) The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America

Numbered 1-4

Article III.

Section 1.

1.) The Judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.

Numbered 1-3

As per the writing and publishing of the Bi-centennial almanac in 1975 twenty-six amendments to the Constitution had been ratified with as per March 22, 1974 the equal rights amendment had been by 33 States and rejected by 12.

The body of the original Constitution contained Seven Articles.
