A little late to ask this question but......Why?

Friends,


I know the World is in turmoil it would appear to most if not all of us but there are those among us that still ask the question- Why?


I ask why can't we use old technology to continue forward further than we have gone or in other words traveled before?


Maybe I've been out of the loop on a few too long but it seems that a second docking port on the Space Station could have been utilized as a permanent docking port for the shuttle.


The reason?


Leave one in orbit with the station and let the thinker's think on the subject and refuel it or what have you using the Russian rocket til we get "our" new rocket on line that's supposed to be so much more fuel efficient than the old heavy life one that got "us" to the moon in the first place!


The bottom-line is maybe that should still be a consideration before we ship off the fleet to the tourist destinations.


Why?


Hell I don't know I'm just trying to get my mind working again back to the point I can write a little bit and who knows that shuttle might be able to take a trip on out a little further because like someone mentioned yesterday it's easier to go to a lower orbit than it is get to higher orbit.


We could always collect some space junk and and sell it on E-bay! LOL!


Put a 20 mm cannon on it and blow somethin up!


The nuclear waste at Los alamos and the history of the old Space 1999 series got me to thinkin about it yesterday.


Not to mention the Asteroid deal and some Aerosmith!
