Last evening as I was about to fall asleep around 9:pm or just before I happened upon a APT I believe that I wish I could have found the motivation to look for the title and/or stay awake for the ending to see if there was a DVD available because of the subject matter and my interest in History.
As a side note:
I have some folks that wonder why I don't leave my house at times and just go for a ride. Well who could with the limited income and it being more limited as the month continues on and my lack of the ability to be able to do what I feel is neccessary to make a living here in my own office by utilizing this computer and taking the medication that although even I sometimes wonder if it may kill me no one else should be involved in trying to disrupt!
That just makes it more likely that an old accident injury to my chest may worry the crap out of me and I in the process I wont actually make it a few blocks to have some simple tests done that would prevent the worry!
Back to the subject of the story last night regarding the Spanish and their tyranny upon Columbus discovery of the new world which we celebrate for some reason on October 11th of each year!
Maybe we should celebrate the landing at Plymouth Rock with more emphasis and Thanksgiving for the help the Indians of that area gave those individuals who would have met their demise or death had it not been for that help! Oh we do celebrate that holiday with a little more sincerity now don't we.
Unfortunately the Spanish as per what I remember of the program last night treated not only the Indians or indigeonous people of America with disregard over all but also were the first to introduce african slaves into our hemisphere!
In fact the Spanish as per the story I watched were guilty of treating the protestants, muslims, jews and converts to christianity they felt were not being sincere only to protect their lives with great misery and pain- in other words torture financed by Gold and Silver they basically stole from the America's!
It was a fascinating program to watch if only I hadn't fell asleep! The only problem with my not falling asleep is that I wanted to do so anyway!
Another fascinating aspect of the Spanish were the fact they felt that they could recreate a full blooded spaniard by taking a mixed race woman and man and basically mating them with a full blooded Spaniard until they reached a point where they felt they had erased the indigenous blood-line!
Interesting be it true or not based on my own pondering of this question due to the Indian heritage in my own family and it's percentage of increase or decrease in percentage in our families DNA over time.
I thought it interesting because I had thought of this many times in the past at one time or another particularly since my youngest son's birth and his doctor's use of Indian heritage to describe a situation I have written about previously and the fact my oldest son had at one time been married to and fathered a child with an Indian girl from a Tribe I was told was from Michigan or there a bouts considering his Indian heritage was intriguing at least to me!
As for the Spanish they introduced slavery to the new world along with the diseases that to our knowledge did not exist in the new world or the America's as we have been taught I assume is correct. Heck if you want to watch that program yourself I'm sure it available in some media form that I am sorry I can't give you other than to remind you it was on APTV which I assume is correct because I was just flipping channels myself.
I would assume after watching the program to the point I fell asleep that there is no wonder there has been so much war and strife between not only the people's of England, France and Spain but also between the people of the Muslim and Jewish faith as well!
The Spanish American War most likely had some bearing on Spanish influence over the America's considering the outcome.
No offense to the Spanish of the modern day world is implied nor was it most likely implied in the program last night if that needs to be stated at all by me or anyone else!
