As you may have read Annabelle Wooley or Boo Boo as she is nicknamed my
8 year-old Female Yorkshire Terrier Fell Ill last week for a couple of days and after her protest Friday morning that was taken as "I don't want to go the doctor!"
Actually in the parking lot of Stephanie's Veterinary clinic on Hwy 181 in Fairhope that is by Saturday morning I had come to the conclusion that Boo Boo actually may have been telling me "she wanted to go the doctor!"
She could barely stand up Friday night and after a forced walk in the back yard I thought would either cure her or give me another clue what was wrong she barely made it in the back door!
As I stated Saturday morning I jumped up and headed up to see Stephanie her doctor and as the nice young lady at the counter was looking up her medical records the young lady alertly commented that Boo Boo was certainly not looking herself! She was just laying there looking weak.
Stephanie after only a short time waiting came in to examine her and diagnosed with pain associated from her old back injury from when she was just about the size of a mouse and I rolled over onto her in my sleep!
I had just fallin in love with her after she had peed the bed and I said to my wife Valarie at the time "oh don't worry about it"!
I'm happy to say after a few days of ordered rest as best you can make a Yorkshire rest- well they are a little ADHD. They sleep a few a minutes and run and a play a few minutes a number of times per day! Oh yeah and after taking her shot Saturday morning as well as pain meds and steroids over the last few days she is back to chasing squirrels which she has never done!
So go figure!?
Maybe she got into a squirrel fight when she was hurt but I think it was when she jumped out of my truck and landed on her chin! She's fast for 8 pound Yorkie!
Stephanie said she has gained a pound and she needs to lose it!
Stephanie told me to keep her immobilized for a week but I'm sorry to say she isn't following doctor's orders!
By the way as I was waiting in the exam room I noticed the staff talking about the other pets as if they were caring for a family member so I was impressed!
