Right now, somewhere in America a person is being ruined by ADHD testing on a level very near what would be called temporary enslavement by isolating, drugging and any means neccessary to destroy their wish, desire or whatever the Fuck it was that brought them to a doctor near you!

God Save us!

I'm ADHD and knew it then when I was a non-meth man and I know it now when I'm in Hell!

Over the last few days I've seen the the ass end of satan through the eyes of experience that no man can take away! Unfortunately!

It is the most obscene gestures of brutality I have ever known except during the last months run on the drug from hell because it carry's the banner of the one company that can save a life through the use of their flag!


I'm the man from Dauphin Island Parkway and if you know the right songs you can put two and two together!


I've screwed over so many times I feel like a pin cushion with no outward scars except for today because today is the day the an assault and it may still be continuing at least that is the way you feel after traumatic experiences and if your not very damn careful you might run down the street naked!

If I had an Army of special forces I'd root out the drug rehab professionals from the South and mid-west and try them for war crimes against humanity with death on their on crap as punishment!

That is what a 45 year-old man that has seen it all so much that "I can truly say that I have no fear of death".
The reason is because it comes like a thief in the night! It can come in other ways and I mean know offense but you do know unless your drugged and tortured and I've been done that way right here in America The Beautiful and they call me insane!

I am more afraid of insanity than death and before this 7 years of people doing this to me in this way or that it has made me bitter but sorrowful especially for the future!

A future much like the past but with tools available to screw with the mind that come in a bottle more so destructive in the hands of the people that think "damn the son-of-a-bitch" I know how to handle a drug addict going way back! Let's show the m' fer that he aint shit in the scheme of things!

Well it didn't work! Na Nanny Boo Boo! Means something to someone one-way and to another another but with no offense to one and to the other it was just simple "phrase". I'm not sure why I mentioned that one so on we go.

I'm just laying here licking my wounds still looking at the steel trap around my leg after the person responsible for setting the trap I guess didn't hunt for food they were just hunting for sport! I hope to God when I'm off the list of pets in this zoo of poor souls mistreated by their own that I'm still alive and in good enough health to enjoy a boat ride! I also hope it's on the same damn thing I took for 10 years that was "legal" and I have to admit if you called me a liar to my face I'd "float like a butter fly and sting" all over you if you were a man and if you were a woman I'd turn and run becuase you would most likely try to kill me or change my mind and that would not work for us unless you were my doctor becuase if so I would feel and did feel that way and it worked I think to have that attitude because oh hell where was I damn-it! Shut-up damn-it!

Let's go this way if you are with a doctor that you think gives a damn even if you don't at first agree and if you were right and kept your mouth shut and they decide you are right and you survive past enough wolves out here or hunters for sport and not on somebody's dinner plate you might get r done and find someone to love and that loves you as well or better than you do them or someone has you and get out of this life alive- which means "damn I'm in heaven there's Jesus and everyone I knew oh there's boo boo! Thank you my Lord and Savior my faith was strong enough and I know from where-ever I left and whomever it was that I was with that loved me enough to believe in me will soon be here just like we thought! Thank God! No Thank you God so much but you know another sign your in heaven!

Man your not in hell anymore. Your in the land of milk and honey. Not only that but we beleive in positive reienforcement and you can work in any field you like or more than one if you want because if want diversity in your daily schedule that you made last night right before you made the decision to go bed because we both know what the truth was all long!

"7 years of hell on earth brutality after almost 10-12 years of success was really what it was and nothing like a reason to be banished from society as a poor soul on drugs that might recover after we kill him in rehab 24/7 outhouse" every which way and where but loose which is very damn possible here or on the damn moon I can assure you if you beleive we went to the moon- if not then I don't know what else to say but hand me that damn encyclopedia or get me doctor and a nurse that knocks at the door and says "we love you man" come on you know us in real life please!

Right now "I would too but I'm sick, Tired (?) broke (?) and alone (?) writing this hoping for a miracle myself!

Damn I'm lonely I'm going in here and lay down and I wish I could cry or get-r-done cause I'm broke and I need a fix of that 10-12 year type that did, was or might have been legal then ill-legal or only a small percentage or damn I need a ticket to CABO or just a shot of Tequilla! No. Not yet. You wouldn't beleive that either if I told you because I'm going to hell anyway- and if I laugh don't beleive the laugh just beleive the sorrow and hope for a little bit of what I write about ending up like the story above's better points.

It's great to be back on blogger writing a little although for the last couple of months I have been put in the most difficult position of having to utilize Barr's generic version of Adderall to have the quality of life we all deserve and it has been less than quality.

I understand your misery if you have had to make do on this medication and if you have not had the opportunity to have the benefit of the original Shire version of the product I certainly hope you get the chance.

I personally have to say that at the risk of sounding as if I'm kissing up here as I have applied to be on the Vyvanse assistance program that my experience with the Shire products have made my life better even in some of the most difficult circumstances that anyone could imagine living here in America!

Otherwise I would not be a successful albeit beat up at times patient being treated for ADHD. Please be careful yourselves as unfortunately there are many individuals that work diligently to undermine the success of an ADHD patient on a 24/7 basis.

Whew! Lord help the poor and unknowing ADHD!

I'm learning to work while I feel like death because Let's see my government allows Insurance Company's to act as God all the while leading some us poor souls and how many that aren't ADHD and just plain at the mercy of drug company's that have no regard for their clients because the FDA is benign!

The problem is the FDA let a mere 15,000 people out of a 63,000,000 that is million dose pool of individuals complaining of nothing more than insominia and a few other poor souls that may or may not have had major health events with a few high profile deaths in the late 90's ruin one more way for the Amercian people to treat Narcolepsy, Asthema, or even ADHD and maybe a little pain to top it off  over the encounter!

The reason I'm upset oh hell mad as hell is I'm trying to live in this perfectly drug free after suffering for years wen  lost my medication trying to get educatedon something that I didn' beleive in but took a medication finding comfort, motivation, focus and concentration on that I had neverhad before!

Not realizing what the hell I was doing was the best damn thing I could have ever done short of being on Dexedrine or Adderll XR before it went generic!

Ephedrine! At least it wasn't crack or cocaine you know and it worked very damn well.

Now we all that were doing just fine are either in drug rehab, considered on meth or crank or whatever, trying keep our insurance paid up so we can get a patented name brand drug or do without and live with all the other crap this past ten years as brought us in state of depression wondering what happened to our country!

Well all I can say is demand a name brand medication for heart or your chemo-therapy or you might never know what killed you for God's sakes!

Ain't that some shit? You could trust a mini-thin to get you home alive in 1997 but in 2011 your generic amphetamine I hate to call generic adderall may or may not  do anything but make you wish you had lived in the last century and kicked the bucket doing your job at who knows maybe 75-100!

If not like the "Bear" said price of victory is high but so are the rewards! You get to die at 64 a champion!

I just hope I get 1. that is one more chance with Vyvanse! Lord please help me and everyone else that can benefit from it to do so!

Otherwise maybe the new government in Egypt will take our constitution and do it one better!

Maybe Ireland or Scotland but right now I'm just trying to get over the stupidity of our govenment officials to promote generics as "equal" to or better than a "Two-way"!

It had 25mg of Ephedrine and 100mg of for a lack of a better term-Robitussin in it!

It sucked when they started putting that cough medication in our asthema medicine but what hell was to come!

This Barr sucks! Period!

Thanks Blue Cross and Blue Shield don't worrybout me or my crew risking our lives for your Iranian Inspector putting in another foundation for you because you let me and millions down each time force us to decide between
the what if I had the Real thing and possibly death!

The FDA too! Id rather make it home alive after working my ass off or working my ass off in the officen sitting on my ass til I got over the depression, yeah that's right not bi-polar just depression only to be the most energetic person on the planet with no direction!

Or worse! Which is  real possibility Mr. President and I'm a Damn democrat so to hell with going to war with China or some shit next make the FDA do it's job to make medications effective and available!

And Shire file that injunction against Watson to stop them for 30 months so we don't have to worry about our young ADHD getting disillusioned on that crap!

Because Insurance or not because some neurologist tells the poor kid "oh the generic is just fine" and cheap!

I wish Barr would come get a sample of this shit and tell me our t is specs under court order God-damn-it!

We aint cold, got the shakes or nauseated and were focused as hell!

Motivated? We jogged and read a book on Trigonometry!

God who makes the chemo now that I've been through rehab I'm scared to take an Aspirin! Unless it's a Bayer!

Tiger what you taking for pain? Man that energy bar any good?

Charlie keep your attorney handy cause I think you got poisoned and your family has the papers to take your cash flow some champagne to celebrate!

Medication comparison- I'm just saying!

I haven't forgotton my original reason for building this site.

I'm going to keep it simple as to not cause a stir.

I switched pharmacies a while back because I wasn't happy with a medications workings.

The medication is Clonazapam. The brand name is Klonopin. 1 mg. 

The dosing instruction as per my doctor are one a day or two a day as needed for anxiety. Not Fear. Nerves.

The brand name I have never been fortunate enough to be able to afford.

The generic name brand I changed from was Teva.

The generic name brand I have found most useful is Mylan.

The Mylan I'm running low on so I decided to try a little test tonight.

I took two Teva's I had left over from a previous prescription and sho nuff the result is the same as it has been in the past. No obvious feeling that would be considered as much comfort as with the Mylan.

No offense to Teva but damn! Really the FDA sucks- in nice way cause I'm not angry about it because maybe somebody else would like the Teva result better but not I!

I beleive as always otherwise I wouldn't have signed up for humana's drug plan that gives me some choice this month and will be available for me next month.

I don't have the big book yet the humana rep described on the phone but I hope they cover one of these drugs I take in the original name brand that owns the patent!

As a matter of fact humana does cover Cymbalta! Dropping the over the counter price from 150.00 per month back to if I heard the rep correctly on the phone to less than 50.00 a month because there is no deductible!

A Serioius post on medication! Please read just in case.

I want you to know an effect I have experienced on at least two occasion and maybe only two with a combination and timing of a medication "possible" interaction that although not life threatening does have a negative impact!


I decided to take a 20 mg Cymbalta and a 1 mg Clonazopam on an empty stomach at 5:40 pm.


I had some luck taking an afternoon dose of Clonozapam with my ADHD medication with fair results thus the decision to chart this stated action.


I had no stomach discomfort as in the first time that I recall this issue.


About thirty-forty minutes ago I just had this urge to tell myself "you feel stupid"!


It has eased now but I would take care to chart all your medication the same way I have and if you can't remember to let your doctor know try to use some type of system even if it is simply "coming from an ADHD" person this does sound stupid but I mean what I stated in a more in tune with a slight confusion of what to do!


I hope you understand what I mean or actually don't because you have never experienced the turn around type feeling some medication may have on your primary medication or whatever I'm trying to explain too you!


Other than that I've been bust today and I haven't taken the time to write anything or had that spark you feel when you want to write something until now and it is motivated out of my desire to inform just in case you ever have that sudden realization that something didn't quite work as planned!


I'm speeding up now as if I have just awaken and that starts when your ADD or ADHD medication starts to lose it's effectiveness but it is well worth it to take your medications as long as they don't harm you or anyone else around you!

I'll be damned!

Well I took enough Sudafed 24 hour to get out of depression without taking a anti-depressant that is nothing more than a depressant! Guess which one that is?

Cymbalta! Well the truth is truth! I said if I was going to have a blog you'd know when I was kidding and when I was being serious if you had any sense!

Most of you do from my experience!

Who the hell wants to take something in large quantity's or any quantity for that matter that makes you within an hour feel like the only option is to drug yourself to sleep?

The only thing Cymbalta has done is maybe help with my hands because I used to not be able to open my left hand and my right wasn't far behind- one doctor said one day I would need surgery well I've worked on that hand myself forcibly to get it freed up!

I can also cry on 20 mg of Cymbalta which I can't do on 30mg and that is fact!

I can cry on Adderall XR too if it's from Shire where the Barr makes me a tad irritable and who the hell wants to irritable and the Barr version is the same XR or short-acting! Sorry it is just the truth!

I have plenty to cry about as I'm sure and know the rest of the wants to cry about both good and bad things and to quell that can't be a good thing for anybody!

I cry every time I go to my wife and family's old address- the one I fought so hard to keep our house that is and our neighbors!

That tells me something that I need to know and the reason is obvious to anybody that has had anything to do with me in my life past or present!

The Results of the comparison over a period of several months between Adderall XR by Shire and the generic version!

The result is as conclusive as I can make out as an individual utilizing results that include symptom control, length of time that symptom control is achieved, the personal feelings I experienced when using the two or may still be experiencing with the XR by Shire due to it's smooth duration of control.

1.) The generic has a shorter length of symptom control.
2.) The Adderall XR by Shire has tested out to give symptom control with no real feeling of being on the medication for a period of 7 + hours as per yesterdays initial notes.
3.) The Adderall by Shire when it does begin to show in your feelings that naturally occur with most medications it has none of the "need to take another dose immediately" feeling as with the generic I have purchased and have regretted having to work with each time. Period! There is no doubt you will find some of this as well and the time of day the feelings return are much shorter with the generic making the afternoon be it at the office in the field or on the week-end with your family much less enjoyable for you as most likely you enjoyable for those around you simply because you don't feel as well as you can with the Adderall XR by Shire! 4.) An ADHD, ADD or person experiencing depression and has been prescribed and compared these two medications will surely feel a difference in their overall symptom control and general well being much as you would if you had a simple cold or stomach flu but not neccessarily in the same way only the effect one of those two may have on your over all feeling of well being depending on your prescribed dosage and the name brand vs the generic depending as well on your own metabolism, Etc.
5.) The Adderall by Shire as in the past has disappointed me in it's lenght of symptom control but I cannot say with any amount of certainity to this point that the once a day Vyvanse will replace a two a day dose of Adderall by Shire simply because it the Vyvanse has yet to offer the same result at the same or very close to the same price when insurance is used to purchase my medication. Your insurance and the retail price may vary but I must Add that CVS offers the closest comparable price apples to apples with my 60mg Adderall XR.
6.) I'm sorry to say the Vyvanse just does not last long enough to give the average person in my opinion symptom control that will provide the quality of life they deserve.
7.) Last but not of least importance is the fact that it would appear from my results in using any of the ADHD medications that if anyone, be it yourself or another disrupts your ability to have a decent nights rest the lenght of symptom control is lessoned with the medication at the same dose, etc!
8.) Note: I take as well if you remember from prior posts up to 2 1mg Clonazapams and a 20 mg daily dose of Cymbalta. Consider this along with your doctors instructions most importantly when trying successfully I hope in achieving your goals!

 There is a danger out there that most us take for granted until we are in the situation and it tops the list of things not to do when driving, possibly even out distancing having a drink or texting! The reason is simple and the story justifies the end.
I'll have it up for you and hopefully your young driver in the house to read soon.

I think your young driver as well as some of you that are a little older will enjoy and reconsider the next time you feel "you may just reconsider that drive home " on 1 cup of coffee!

As you all are aware I am a avid Alabama Football Fan! You may not know that I once sold homes for several builders all owned by two families well three including mine eventually. As well you may not know that I self-medicated with an over the counter medication that could have and almost killed me if not for ignorance but for the fact it was diluted with a basic cough medicine that in fact is worse now- the dilution than ever! I think the ratio is 12.5 mg of Ephedrine to 200 mg of guissenifan.

I would be miserably ill if not worse if still trying to manage ADHD at that rate of dilution and dosage. You should also know if too young remember that until about 10 years ago you could buy this asthma/alertness/base for amphetamins (ADHD meds over the counter at your neighborhood gas station) with no added quissinifen! In my opinion which is only that it was a much safer alternative to caffeine then and would be now because it had a completely different chemical reaction in your brain if you are ADHD , ADD or NOT than caffeine.

You would make it home from a long trip awake and alert or you could concentrate on a late meeting or date!

The problem was knowledge and that is what makes self-medicating dangerous even with aspirin in some cases if you read the label! 25mg of Ephedrine x 6 in a 24 hour period would most likely not harm a dangerously high percentage of individuals as per the FDA reports!

Vitamin B makes me feel like I might have a heart attack and die so read your medications insert and see for yourself what percentage of persons had adverse reaction to it or even Aspirin!

Today I personally tested what I have tested in the past. Same result just fresher memory!

Adderall XR vs generic adderall xr fresh from the pharmacy- CVS to be exact!

60 mg of Adderall XR by Shire was the medication tested beginning at approximately 8:30 AM!

The result was only slightly surprising!

The name brand medication wins hands down and I'll break it down for you in terms we can all understand child, teen or adult!

I don't guarantee the result and in no way imply you should try this at home I'm under the care of a doctor that knows my dosage and desire to help myself and others without causing myself or anyone else harm!

Actually my real concern is with this generic medication! Unless I've been in a study without my knowledge there is a major difference-period!

I'll post the results tomorrow and please check them out they will be in a format you can all read and if not then something went wrong with my mind between today and tomorrow that would be an amazing turn of events to say the least!

P.S.- Just in case Shire Adderall XR 60 mg is smooth as silk and lasts 7 hours before you even notice any issues- none except one!

At 7 hours when you and millions of other men and women get ready to or have just left for home you feel a slight change in patience with your task, or it could be your family or co-workers so a second dose would be necessary in my general opinion to make it work through the evening with symptoms and side effects NOT being a problem! I'll finish tomorrow but dosing is up to your doctor and their diagnosis!

Shire medication has NO overwhelming desire to take another pill or you are going to die without it like the generic if I'm being treated square here! I'm square with you and I do have two other medications involved to consider in my state of mind so we'll put a time on them tomorrow consider!

Note: 1.) I had lunch a nice big one.
            2.) I watched most of the Bama game even some of it after it was out of reach                     for Duke!
             3.) I stopped and took a couple of breaks!
             4.) Studied this dern blog for signs it may pay for it's self!
             5.) Fed my dog supper which was baked Talpia!
             6.) Talked with friends and relatives about many topics!
             7.) Love life and truth with all my heart and maybe you too if  you            
                    are  anything like me!
No need to wrap much up tomorrow now but I do have something planned!

The information I'm about to give you can be found for your own use to determine if or whether some situation in your life a friends or a family members may be worthy of consideration for a disability claim that can be backed up with testing through written or verbal interviews by qualified doctors in the field hopefully without any further damage to the person affected and their state of mind.

I myself am not a doctor nor do I want you to consider anything I say to be fact. I want you to read the information as published by our government so that your family member, friend or yourself does not suffer the fate of having one side of your circle feel one way while the other side of your circle may think another and put pressure on you or those involved in a worse situation even if only temporarily!

I am going to say this though, I may be wrong but it took me some time actually several years and several doctors because of my particular situation to feel that I needed to file and stay with that application until it was approved due in part to the fact I had very little trust in the mental health community. When I did allow myself to be talked into my seeking help I over communicated (my opinion) and expected to much too quick thus ruining a relationship with a doctor only to move around to other doctors not understanding that it took complete honesty and allowing them to prescribe the different medications upon my honesty which I am not sure I or they in a situation or two had the knowledge at the time to even know what I needed to be honest about or how to treat me as for the medication(s).

The time wasted and the different treatment by different doctors without being with the most qualified that I could have been with from just after my decision to seek help was in part my fault if not fully.

I lost valuable time in my life doing harm to my relationships with family and friends by NOT staying with the doctor I am now with over a disagreement that if I had given it time and let her "work" my diagnosis I would have either been found disabled temporarily or stabilized as I feel she has done for me now which will hopefully allow me to do what I can show you is possible, and that is to regain the ability time to work as per guidelines you will read as you research.

Being able to work and have the self-respect and rewards of that many fa-cited endeavor be you employed or self-employed in the job or career of your choice is part of the American Dream and the American Dream is impossible (for the most part) to have if you can't have self-respect and dignity not to mention a decent income which is not to say disability isn't something we shouldn't appreciate as American citizens.

If you are physically disabled I'm for you 100% and hope you have no ill regards for what I'm writing about and hopefully you can do what you want to in life.

With regards to having a mental breakdown which is much easier to have than I ever imagined is also easier than you may think to manage as long as you have support around you that has the information they need to help you and gain your cooperation as well as a qualified doctor.

Don't let your upbringing or pride get in the way of helping yourself both for your family's sake and your own and find and stay with your qualified physician in the field and tell them every thing you need to; to explain your issues so that your family because in some cases of your stubbornness loses faith in you or a plan that puts you in situations that make your state of mind worse further complicating matters. Believe me on this point they can become very complicated and time lost is life lost for everyone!

Issues:

1.) How do you feel at this moment the moment you are with your doctor.
2.) Explain anything you have experienced that may have you in this state.
3.) Explain as you are treated how you feel both mentally and physically even if that means sharing information among your doctors yourself or have someone you trust do that for you and make sure it gets done.
4.) Make notes of anything important yourself no matter how crazy it may seem for your own good particularly if you are being pressured or otherwise by anyone or anything including financial or personal.
5.) Keep it personal between you and your trusted loved one, friend and doctor(s).
6.) Keep notes on the different medications and how they effect you because the one that is right may not be right with another and your doctor has to know this or your wasting your time.
7.) number 6 is the one that breeds impatience so hold on to that and if your are ADD or ADHD most likely that is one you've lost anyway until you get on the right medication.
8.) If you have self-medicated tell them. Why, What and how long and the result because the problem you have now may or may not be related.
9.) Stay away from internet sites promising miracles that can't be substantiated by someone you can interview yourself.
10.) Make sure you compare apples to apples- you know what I mean? Are they being honest with you about their own circumstances? Maybe not.
11.) Anyone that feel you can self-heal but doesn't believe in self-help is someone to be cautious of in other words read reliable information. Compare results of your research and look for reliable information that disputes your own findings. If it is available well you'll understand.
12.) Don't worry about making mistakes but watch your medication(s) and if they make you irritable or jumpy get in touch with your doctor before you wind up in a world of hurt. A simple combination or a simple change can make life better or worse in a hurry.
13.) Stay away from anyone that could in anyway get the idea you want or need them to make your situation worse. You will know. Paranoia: Look it up in the dictionary and don't let anyone make that more of a problem by testing you even if you have to avoid them and stay with the people that believe in you and understand your goal is to get better not stay in the grip of those that test you. You'll know that crap when you hear it!
14.)Your doctor is the place to be tested.

I know it sounds difficult but it is but life is worth every last effort to make better in every category including quality!

Under the sub headings if you are dealing with a pre-existing condition such as ADD, ADHD & depression or as an individual you will read what would seem to indicate that depression, stress, anxiety from an outside source that could be from any number of sources and meet any number of criteria can if I have read correctly aggravate a person's situation to the point they are temporarily debilitated and if your own actions are to answer or ask for medication or indicate a need for such medication or present yourself in such a manner that is not your normal self or seen as normal by members of your family and community you can further exacerbate the situation putting you or your friend or relative in jeopardy by any numbers of means.

In other words the last thing you want is for everyone to give up on you and utilize probate court to place you in any State facility if you can at all help it because the thought of repeating such an event lasts in your mind for a time like it or not and further damages your state of mind and again time is lost for everyone.

The purpose of disability is to be a safety net in our country for those that need it and don't be afraid to read yourself or have someone read the information listed on the internet for your benefit to save your life and give your doctor time to understand what it is that has gotten you to the point you are- you may be surprised to find you aren't as "lost" as you may think and that you are no free-loader or welfare case as you may feel unnecessarily.

Testing can be done without being put away if you do it sooner than later and don't let time put the facts and your life at risk. The damage you experience in a hospital that you are unable to leave but able to feel as the worst mistake you ever let happen to yourself may be hard to get past later.

So if you are trying to get something for nothing don't bet on it and if not you'll know only if you are fortunate enough to have a chance to get to the point you can read for yourself or trust someone to show it too you that you deserve what your test results allow you and not to cut yourself short or further harm your ability to recover from whatever your issue may be!

I hope I've made sense here and for God's sake don't take my word for it or anyone else unless you trust them enough to either read it yourself or have it shown to you!

Disability is based on your ability to do what you have done to make a living for your family and to the best of my knowledge doing that in a forty hour week!

If you can't get on track get yourself some help but know for yourself and be careful about being on two many medications and not the right one(s).

I let that happen and it was my fault to some degree at least. I could have saved myself several years in my case and you have to consider it takes a certain amount of time to recover without pressure or harassment from anyone!

In fact that my friends only makes things worse for all involved. I'd rather not detail my own losses or that of my immediate, extended or otherwise.

Lastly you may not be as bad off as you think or someone tells you or treats you so keep your chin up!

Generic Vs Name Brand Medications- a solution?

The following article on MSN caught my attention and I thought I'd share it with you.

I hope anyone that has to purchase a prescription will try to purchase the original brand name or the holder of the patent what have you prior to making a judgment on the usefulness of brand vs generics.

I have found some many differences myself as have friends of mine that I am even skeptical when it is the same generic but marketed by two different Companies.

I'm sure most of you already know this and know the cost but the bottom-line is your health and quality of life and if most people find a difference then there must be a difference. If you go name brand first you then know one way or another when you have to use the generic if you notice a difference and in some cases well you make the decision, I'm no doctor just a patient that has seen differences.

Being ADHD I can definitely attest to the difference in the generics that are supossed to replace short-acting Adderall. They just are different.

Unfortunately I've never had the money myself to purchase name brand short-acting Adderall and when combined with the Shire XR both generics have a genuine differing effect on how you feel and how your symptoms are controlled bottom-line.

So if it were my heart- I'd mortgage the house to start with the NAME brand and if necessary to insure my life or that of a family member take the generic! At least you'll know. If you are Diabetic or have hyper-tension you have equipment but I've seen such differences or heard of them medicine vs medicine and company vs company I'd stick to some kind of plan with anything new!

One makes you over-energetic(wrong)and is short lived(wrong)while the other is more of a doped feeling that is more of a sedative(wrong) and my friends that was when taken at different occasions with NO XR by Shire utilized enough said!

The whole idea is to bring your mind and energy into focus so you can concentrate, pay attention and accomplish your goals without feeling ill!

Same issue with generic sleep meds. I quit taking anything but Tylenol (I know)PM to sleep and who knows what a real nerve pill would be like! LOL! I haven't seen one since the 80's! LOL!

So just be careful on the stuff you may not notice early on or as with some medications in a few hours or days because who knows the result if you don't have some basis to make a judgment because the next one prescribed might be worse not better.

The article is in it's entirety and from a trusted University but as a democrat and supporter of health Care for all I do worry about quality otherwise you never know your full potential or you know and that unknown is not an option.

WebMD will scare you to death on the new medications when tou look at the chart style side-effects I always figure 1 page vs 10 equals a much greater chance of one of those side-effects being an issue and who needs that? Now sometimes it's just up to you that's all there is too it.

Research will save you thanks to our God given mind!

FRIDAY, Aug. 13 (HealthDay News) -- Costly, brand-name blood pressure-lowering drugs are no better at preventing cardiovascular disease than older, generic diuretics, reveals long-term data from a large study.

It included more than 33,000 patients with high blood pressure who were randomly selected to take either a diuretic (chlorthalidone) or one of two newer drugs -- a calcium blocker (amlodipine) or an ACE inhibitor (lisinopril).

Data from the Antihypertensive and Lipid-Lowering Treatment to Prevent Heart Attack Trial (ALLHAT) released in 2002 showed that after four to eight years of follow-up, the diuretic was better than the calcium blocker in preventing heart failure and better than the ACE inhibitor in preventing stroke, heart failure and overall cardiovascular disease.

Differences between the drugs narrowed after eight to 13 years of follow-up, the findings show. However, the diuretic was still better in two areas. Compared with patients taking the diuretic, those in the ACE inhibitor group had a 20 percent higher death rate from stroke, and those in the calcium channel blocker group had a 12 percent higher rate of hospitalization and death because of heart failure.

The results were to be presented Friday at the China Heart Congress and International Heart Forum in Beijing.

"We are continuing to mine data that we collected during the trial," Dr. Paul Whelton, president and CEO of Loyola University Health System and chairman of ALLHAT, said in a university news release.

ALLHAT is sponsored by the U.S. National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.
